How To Apply

Procedure
A job application at TNG starts with a written form. Where appropriate, this is then followed by one or several rounds of interviews, the contractual agreement and employment.

Extent of the written application

  • complete CV
  • references from previous employers
  • college or university diploma

Abilitities Try to give a complete overview of your abilities. Please mention also exotic ("spinlocks in the Linux kernel") or seemingly outdated technologies (e.g. VMS Galaxy) with which you are adept. Information on soft- and management skills is also much appreciated.
Degree of experience Please try to rate your abilities in your fields of knowlege (e.g. "C++: 2, Java: 3, project management for team sizes up to 4: 1-2"). It is sufficient for you to distinguish between three levels (intermediate stages are possible):
  • Level 1/User ("read the book") means that you have had some experience in the rated topic and that you could work productively in this field without a long ramp-up time.
  • Level 2/Expert ("reviewed the book") means that you are able to answer most questions in the rated topic during day-to-day business and that you have worked intensively and/or several times with it.
  • You have reached Level 3/Guru ("wrote the book"), if you have worked very intensively with the rated topic. You should have a lot of metaknowledge regarding it and know its concepts and design philosophy, moreover, you should be able to connect these with related topics.
