October 15th, 2026On October 14th and 15th, the BaselOne 2026 conference takes place in Basel, Switzerland.
Our colleagues Dr. Dennis Schulz and Gregor Ziegltrum contribute to the conference program on October 15th with their talk "Wir haben unser Leben heruntergeladen: Was Unternehmen wirklich über uns wissen".
In their talk, they share their experiences requesting their European right to access personal data from hundreds of companies ranging from online shops and social networks to advertising firms, health insurers, and dating platforms. They present the received datasets in various formats, from manually redacted PDFs to gigabytes of CSV and JSON data, and explain how they used AI to bring order to the data chaos. This process revealed a nearly complete biography of their digital and analog lives. As a live demo, they will unleash an agent on their own data during the talk to demonstrate what detailed information companies already store about individuals today.
