BSides Munich 2026
November 7th, 2026The Security-Conference BSides Munich 2026 takes place on November 7th and 9th, 2026.
Our colleague Gregor Ziegltrum presents the talk "The Trouble with Tensors: Securing Tensor Serialization" on November 9th at the Westin Grand Munich.
In his talk, Gregor provides insights into the security aspects of tensor serialization in PyTorch. He explains how the Pickle-based serialization works under the hood, how an attacker can craft a malicious .pt file, and where the limits of the new default setting in PyTorch 2.6 are. He also covers SafeTensors as an alternative, Pickle-free format and discusses practical migration paths for existing codebases.
