Jenkins Hackathon
The Saturday after the Big Techday 6, Jenkins enthusiasts from all over Germany met at TNG and programmed new plugins together. Helpful was an introduction to plugin development given by the founder of Jenkins, Kohsuke Kawaguchi (video), as well as the tips he could give to all participants. The laborious day ended in a nearby beer garden. Some impressions of the Hackathon can be found here.
Big Techday 6
Again this year TNG organized the meanwhile sixth Big Techday at the HVB Forum in Munich with over 400 guests and 30 lectures.
MUK-IT hosted at TNG
On the 6th of June, the Münchener UnternehmerKreis IT was guest at the office of TNG. About 70 participants experienced exciting presentations to the motto "Technologies and trends in the digital world - How does the digitization change our work and our private lives?" and lively discussions lasting into the late evening. Thanks to all speakers and participants.
AtlasCamp
The entire Atlassian consulting team of TNG took part in the annual Atlassian conference "AtlasCamp". At the aforegoing ShipIt-Day, employees of TNG programmed two innovative plugins for the issue management system JIRA and fixed an important localization bug in the enterprise wiki Confluence. One of the two developed plugins won 2nd Price. The plugin will be provided shortly as Open Source.
Atlassian User Group
On May 16th, the Atlassian User Group Munich is guest at TNG. More than 30 Atlassian enthusiasts listen to interesting lectures on various Atlassian products - including Confluence and JIRA - and professionally exchange ideas. The videos of the presentations are mostly available.
JUnit DataProvider on github
TNG published a JUnit extension on github. JUnit DataProvider is an extension related to the TestNG DataProvider for writing and running parameterized tests with simpler syntax in comparison to the known JUnit features.
Public Talk
At the conference Software-Engineering live 2013, one of our experts gave a talk about the topic "Measuring instead of making assumptions: What do users really want?". The video of the talk also is available online.
Contribution to Apache Camel
Apache Software Foundation accepted a contribution from us. Starting with Camel 2.11, the component Spring LDAP that we developed will be part of the official release.
TNG 100
TNG continues to grow strongly. For the first time in company history, TNG has more than 100 full-time employees.
Community
At the regional meeting of the GPM in Frankfurt, we gave a talk about Kaizen as the basis for agile methods.
