AI showcases for children

For decades, the TV show "Die Sendung mit der Maus" has been teaching complex topics to children in an entertaining way. As part of the annual event "Türen auf mit der Maus", we recently invited around 70 children aged six to ten, along with their parents, to our office in Unterföhring.

Our goal was to introduce our young guests to the current trending topic of Artificial Intelligence. We had prepared various showcases, ranging from a picture story generator to real-time deepfakes. The children also particularly enjoyed playing the classic game 'Blobby VR' [1]. We were delighted by the lively interest and hope that we were able to convey our knowledge as effectively as the Mouse, Elephant and Duck have been doing for over 50 years. #TürenAuf

TNG at B2Run 2023

Every summer, the Infront B2Run GmbH organizes a company run called B2Run in different cities all over Germany. As usual, we took part in this great sporting event. Between June and September, over 50 colleagues went on the hunt for a personal best time at amazing locations such as the Olympiastadion Munich. In addition to our home base in Munich, we also gave it our all in Karlsruhe, Hamburg and Berlin. We enjoyed going on our runs and clearing our heads and are looking forward to next year’s event.

Visit to the Wiesn

O’zapft is! This week, we once again attended the Oktoberfest in Munich. About 170 colleagues and 30 of our clients enjoyed beer, Bavarian food, and the great atmosphere at the world's largest folk festival. As a company from the Munich metropolitan region, our visit to the Wiesn is an annual tradition. After all, events like these are a great opportunity to have fun and socialize after solving the hard IT problems of our clients.

Article by the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce about our Big Techday 23

Big Techday 23 not only took place in Munich. On the other side of the world, our colleagues in Australia also hosted a viewing party in our Melbourne office, where they livestreamed some of the early talks. Together with local guests, they watched talks such as “From Zero to ChatGPT Hero: Mastering Prompt Engineering” by our TNG Innovation Hacking team and “How to Build the Most Efficient Concept Car in the World” by the TUfast Eco Team. In a recent article, the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce features this viewing party and provides background information on our annual conference on science and IT. Regional Techdays in Vienna and Berlin

At TNG, we emphasize continuous learning, which is why we hold "Techdays" twice a month for all consultants. For those unable to attend in person in Munich, we offer virtual options. Occasionally, we also host local Techdays. Last week, some of our colleagues came together in two European capitals: Vienna and Berlin. Not only did our consultants exchange ideas in person about the latest trends in technology, they also learned new things through lectures and workshops.

TNG Spontano

Last week, we came together at our new office for a special company-wide event. Our colleagues could choose between two activities. You could build prosthetic hands in small groups using only your non-dominant hand. We will donate the finished hands to people in need in developing countries. Alternatively, you could compete in races with remote-controlled cars on a self-constructed racing track. For both activities, we had to work together, combining all our craftsmanship skills and creative forces. A big thank you to everyone who made this event possible.

TNG Summer Party

Soon after Big Techday 23, another event was just around the corner: our summer party at the Jochen Schweizer Arena in Munich. Whether climbing in the high rope garden, body flying in the wind tunnel, surfing on an artificial wave or playing various games in virtual reality, there was plenty of action for both young and old. As always, our summer party was a great opportunity to try out new activities in fantastic weather, enjoy delicious food and to socialize in a relaxed atmosphere.

Big Techday 23

Big Techday 23 was a big success. With over 1,500 guests, the event at Motorworld Munich was fully booked. There were 41 talks by 55 speakers on a wide range of topics - from artificial intelligence and robotics to research, science and innovation, up to quantum computing. Additionally, we showcased numerous hard- and software exhibits. This year, the Haskell hackathon MuniHac was part of the Big Techday for the first time. Big Techday ended with two highlights: The evening talk by YouTuber Grant Sanderson alias 3Blue1Brown, and a simultaneous chess exhibition by Grandmaster Vincent Keymer who took on 26 opponents at the same time and after more than four hours emerged victorious in all games.

We want to thank our speakers, our guests, and all those who made the Big Techday possible. We are very pleased with the positive feedback and can hardly wait for Big Techday 24.
