Java Forum Stuttgart and Talks

TNG attended the Java Forum Stuttgart with a large group of participants as well as the talk "Avatar - Telepresence Robotics with Nao and Kinect". We were an Event Partner for the Forum.

One of our Partners gave a talk "Shaping Digital Change: Physicists in IT Consulting" at the DPG Munich Industry Dialogue. We were also represented at the Software Architecture Munich Group with the lecture "Agile Architecture – How much stability can agility handle?

Talks and User Groups

Our colleagues will be at the Berlin Buzzwords 2017 with the talks "Queryable State, or How to Build a Billing System Without a Database" and "A Big Data Streaming Recipe". Another colleague will give a talk on the topic "Taming Agile Architecture" at the International PHP Conference in Berlin as well as the DWX Developer Week in Nuremberg.

We will be contributing to the DWX Developer Week and the Hack & Make in Nuremburg with the talk "Avatar – Telepresence Robotics with Nao and Kinect". A colleague will give a talk entitled "Underneath Your Code / Clean Code for the Front End" at the Clean Code Days in Munich.

We are also organizing the Design Thinking Munich Meetup and supporting the Atlassian Enterprise Forum. One of our colleagues will give a talk "REST Services with only HATEOAS" at the Java User Group of the Metropolitan Region Nuremburg.

Talks, Showcases and Usergroups

At the "Connect" conference organized by Mulesoft, our colleagues demonstrated the TNG-developed telepresence system based on Nao and Kinect. In parallel, our colleagues gave a talk on this system entitled "Avatar - Telepresence robotics with Nao and Kinect" at the IoT TechDay in Utrecht.

One of our colleagues gave a talk on the topic "Telefónica Data Anonymization Platform - Big Data meets Privacy by Design" at the Daimler Global Information Security Conference in Stuttgart. We were represented at the SE Live 2017 in the Zugspitz village Grainau with the lecture "Agile Architecture - How much Stability can Agility handle?"

We also organized various Meetups and contributed talks at the Apache Flink Meetup Munich, the Puppet Usergroup Meetup, Software Architecture Munich, the MuniCSS Meetup and the Atlassian User Group Munich.

Talks and User Groups

One of our colleagues gave a talk "A Big Data Streaming Recipe" at the Voxxed Days Bucharest. We presented the topic "Avatar – Telepresence robotics with Nao and Kinect" both at the Mobile TechCon in Munich and at Javaland in Brühl by Cologne.

We also organized the Design Thinking Munich Meetup, the Software Architecture Munich Meetup and the MNUG.

Events at TNG and Talks

The Nodeschool #1 took place at TNG on 21 January. On 31 January we hosted the Software Architecture Munich Meetup and on 9 February the Atlassian User Group. Our employees gave talks at several meetups: "No More Spinners" at the Munich UX Meetup, "Strategies for AI deployment" at the Deep Learning Meetup Munich and "Design Thinking for Beginners" at Design Thinking Munich.

The IoT Hackathon for TNG employees and e-fellows also took place at TNG's offices on 10 February. Intel supported with hardware.

One of our colleagues gave a talk "Shell-Scripting mit Haskell" at the BOB Conference 2017 in Berlin.

OOP 2017

TNG contributed several showcases and lectures to the OOP 2017.

Our colleagues gave talks on the topics "Integrated and Professional Software Development with the Atlassian Stack" and "Avatar – Telepresence Robotics with Nao and Kinect". One of our executive partners gave a lecture at the Intel AI Day and took part in the panel discussion as part of the OOP.

TNG had representatives at the Atlassian and the Intel stand, presenting showcases on gesture control and telepresence robotics. Our colleagues demonstrated various prototypes in the areas of IoT, augmented reality, virtual reality and robotics at the OOP Maker Faire.

Talks

The TNG Hardware Hacking Team was represented at the online conference "Virtual Reality with the Best" with the topic "Avatar – Telepresence Robotics with Nao and Kinect". One of our employees also gave a talk "REST Services only with HATEOAS" at the Java Usergroup Munich.

Talks and Sponsorship

TNG employees gave talks at various conferences: "Functional and low-level: watching the STG execute" at the Haskell Exchange in London, "Avatar - Telepresence robotics with Nao and Kinect" at the ChartaCloud Nao World Congress in the NERVE Center at the University of Massachusetts in Boston, "Scaled Agile Software Development in Practice" at the W-JAX 2016 in Munich, "Behaviour-Driven Development in Java with JGiven" at the Devoxx Belgium in Antwerp. We also gave a keynote lecture at the graduation party for students of Computer Science at the LMU Munich on the topic "Computer Science, Time and Responsibility".

We helped to organize the PHP User Group and Design Thinking Munich, as well holding a talk and kata on "JGiven - a BDD Framework for Java". We also sponsored the Lean Startup Machine.

TNG gave talks at several conferences: "JGiven: Pragmatic BDD for Java" at the JavaOne in San Francisco, "Avatar - Telepresence robotics with Nao and Kinect" at the Nao World Congress in Lowell, Massachusetts, "See like a terminator – Augmented Reality with Oculus Rift" at the IoT Conference in Berlin and "Large-Scale Anonymization at Telefonica Germany powered by Apache Flink" at the Berlin Flink Forward 2016.

We also organized the first Software Architecture Munich Meetup event.

Sponsoring and Talks

As in previous years TNG sponsored the Java Forum Stuttgart again in 2016, attended with a large number of people and gave a talk on "Spark vs. Flink". Furthermore, we sponsored the SoCraTes in Soltau and supported the organization of the event.

At the Flink Meetup Munich two of our employees gave a talk on "Flink in Production: Lessons Learned."
